GHOREPANI- POONHILL TREK


Ghorepani- Poon Hill trek is an easy and short trip that offers a spectacular view of the Himalayas. The trek starts in Pokhara and passes through picturesque villages to reach Poon Hill. It is one of the most preferred and rewarding treks that you can overtake in a limited amount of time. On this journey, you will experience two different, varied landscapes namely highland with the Himalayas and low land with the tropical climate.

From Poonhill, You will view the best panoramic view of the highest mountains, Annapurna (8,091m), Dhaulagiri (8,167m), Machhapuchhre (6,993m), Nilgiri (7061m) and others. This place is very famous for sunrise and sunset view surrounded by  the glorious mountains. Moreover, we also marvel at the everyday life and traditions of the Gurung ethnic group when we stay at Ghandruk village.


Arrive in Kathmandu

Upon your Arrival,we will welcome you in the terminal hall in Tribhuvan international airpot at Kathmandu.We will arranged the hotel and introduced to your trekking guide with whom you can have a prevalent discussion about the trek route,needs and necessities and general suggestions required during the preparation for upcoming adventures.

Sightseeing & trek preparation in Kathmandu

An afternoon,thamel market will be a good idea to get acquaint with the local.You will have a sightseeing day tour at Kathmandu.Early in the morning ,you will be visiting the hindu shrine of pashupatinath and Buddhist shrine of Boudhanath.you will also be visiting “A city of fine arts”Patan Durbar Square:Lalitpur.Along With Patan Durbar Square,you will be visiting Krishna temple,kumbheswore Temple,Golden Temple and many more. Continuing with the day you will visit the 2000 years old legendary swayambhenath Stupa that is located on the elevation, also nicknamed ‘Monkey-Temple’. The tour ends with the visit of Basantapur Durbar Square flaunting the living goddess Kumari. . In the evening, there will be a welcome dinner serving traditional authentic Nepali food in Kathmandu.

Kathmandu to Pokhara

Today we will drive 200km on Prithvi Highway   to Pokhara from Kathmandu on a private vehicle/tourist bus which takes around 7-8 hours depending on the traffic conditions. It is a delightful and pleasing drive with the cool breeze on the face along with the fascinating view of the countryside including the paddy fields, exquisite landscape, stunning panoramic view of the Manaslu, Lamjung Himal, Ganesh Himal and most of the Annapurna range. We will follow the river Trishuli till we reach Muglin and had dinner and finally into pokhara. At Pokhara, you can have a relaxing evening. Either you can do cycling around the delightful Lakeside area or you can just wander around clicking pictures as memories of your visit.

Pokhara (750m) to Tikhedhunga (1,480m: 6-7 hours)

We will be travelling in a private vehicle for about 2 hrs to reach Nayapul. From Nayapul, we walk and hike up to Tikhedhunga for 4-5 hrs.This scenic drive ,which climbs in altitude and is windy in places,transports many trekkers in the Annapurna region to the starting points of their trek. The trailhead for the Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek and the way to get to Tikhedhunga .Tikhedhunga is the small town of Nayapul, just off the Baglung Rajmarg Road. Nayapul's about a 90-minute drive from Pokhara.accommodation for the night will be at a teahouse in Tikhedhunga. Tikhedhunga is a small mountain village in North-West Pokhara

Tikhedhunga (1,480m) to Ghorepani (2,800m: 6-7 hours)

We wake up early and walk through beautiful paddy fields and moderate forests in Ulleri Village.You will enjoy the morning via eating food, enjoying the view and dancing after conquering the famed steps to reach the gorgeous village of Ghorepani. You will be able to see the mountains at a distance from this point only. .

Ghorepani to Tadapani (2,630m: 5-6 hours)

Rise and Shine. We will be taking an early morning hike of about 2 hrs to Poon Hill to view the spectacular sunrise over the Annapurna ranges.   After spending some quality time over there, we will be heading back to Tadapani.

Tadapani (2,630m) to Chomrong (2,210m: 6-7 hours)

Chhomrong (2,210m) to Doban (2,500m: 5-6 hours)

It’s a tough walk from Chhomrong to Dovan as we will be descending and ascending along the way. But the views are beautiful nonetheless.

Doban (2,500m) to Machapuchare Base Camp (3,700m: 5- 6 hours)

We walk from Doban to The Machapuchare Base Camp from where you will have spectacular views of the majestic twin peaks. We stay overnight in the lap of the Himalayas.

Machapuchare Base Camp (3,700m) to ABC (4,130m: 2 hours)

A comfortable two hour hike to reach Annapurna Base Camp. Surrounded by the mountains, this is what you came here for. You will be amazed by beautiful sencerio of carved terrace farming, amazing waterfalls and caves, mountain landscapes and lush vegetation including vibrant blossoming multi-colored rhododendron,Orchids and other wild flowers .We will be having our lunch here and staying overnight.

Annapurna Base Camp to Bamboo (2,310m: 6-7 hours)

We will be descending back and heading to a place called Bamboo through forests of rhododendron and bamboo. Our accommodation will be a teahouse here. You will see Himchuli, Annapurna South, Barahi Shikhar, Annapurna I, Tent Peak, Singachuli, Glacier Dom, Gangapurna, Annapurna III and Machhapuchhre snow-capped mountains around the Annapurna base camp which makes you worthwhile and happy

Bamboo (2,310m) to Jhinu Danda (1,750m: 4 hours)

Jhinu Danda is famous for its natural hot springs.  It is an amazing way to soothe your aches and tiredness from the trek.You wil have a pleasant walk through rhododendron forest, the hot spring will take care of your sore limbs.  On this trek,you will view different kinds of flowers, plants, birds, animals, butterflies, unique Gurung and Magar culture, natural hot spring, picturesque views of Mt. Dhaulagiri, Fishtail, Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Annapurna 2nd and 3rd  and green countryside can be observed on this trek

Jhinu Danda to Pokhara (750m)

From here, we trek to Nayapul and a vehicle will pick us up from there to take us to Pokhara. Pokhara is the most favored tourist destination in Nepal. 

Pokhara to Kathmandu

We will take a domestic flight back to Kathmandu which takes about 45 min.On this journey,You will observe different landscapes, colorful and crowded bazaars etc. At afternoon in Kathmandu City, you can enjoy the Nepalese dinner with ethnic live music  and you can click some pictures as memories of your visit or buy stuff  to take back home.on Evening,you will enjoy farewell dinner party.
